Position Overview

• The Campus Coordinator, who is a staff of Grace United Methodist Church, located within walking distance of the University of California, Riverside, leads a Wesleyan-rooted campus ministry that nurtures Christian students, strengthens their discipleship, and extends the church’s presence on campus. This role blends outreach and leadership development to help young adults grow in faith and service.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Report to the pastor and Staff-Parish Relations Committee.

• Build authentic relationships with Christian and non-Christian students through regular presence on campus.

• Lead small groups, Bible studies, prayer gatherings, and discipleship pathways.

• Lead unbelieving students to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior and equip them with tools for sharing the gospel in culturally relevant and respectful ways.

• Partner with campus organizations, clubs, and ministries to expand outreach opportunities.

• Coordinate student involvement with Grace UMC activities such as Sunday worship services, College Feeding, and special events.

• Recruit, train, and support volunteers who assist with events and discipleship.

 

Qualifications

• A committed Christian with a strong understanding of Wesleyan/Methodist beliefs.

• Experience in campus ministry and discipleship.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; with ability to connect with diverse student populations.

• Ability to teach Scripture clearly.

• Strong organizational and administrative competence, including event planning and team coordination.

• Bachelor’s degree desired; ministry training or theological education preferred.

Work Environment
This role involves regular on campus presence, evening and weekend activities, and occasional retreats or
travel. The Campus Coordinator reports to the pastor in charge and collaborates closely with student leaders
and volunteers.
 

Salary

• This is a part-time position, 15 hours per week, $22.00 - $25.00 per hour.
